An Old Official.
Happening to be in Dalserf Church on Sabbeth last, we observed that the collection for the day was to be donated to Thomas Frame, the ancient sexton and beadle of the Parish. He ascertained that the sum realised by the collection will aid materially in providing necessaries and comforts for the old official during the bitter winter - always felt to be most bitter in the winter of life. The life of Thomas, if not eventful has at least been a long one. He was born in the year 1777, thus being 87 years of age ,and still he is alert and lively. Eighty seven years--what important changes have taken place on the face of the earth, since that time, and what changes, no less important to those inhabitants of the beautif parish of Dalserf.
Thomas has seen four Sovereigns occupy the throne of Great Britian. What has been of more immediate interest to him, he has been served under 4 ministers of Dalserf. He has acted as a beadle and sexton for more than half a century and for upwards of thirty years discharged the duties of precentor in the church. His forefathers occupied the same offices for many generations passed. For himself the old "familiar faces" have passed from around him forever: but in the sere and yellow leaf of his lifetime, it is pleasing to note that if he is not possessed of honour and wealth, he has still, at least, troups of friends.
Hello
My great grandmother was Euphemia Frame, born around March 1864 or 1866
in Scotland. She immigrated to Canada in 1888, either from Scotland or the
U.S., I'm not sure. She married Lewis (or Louis) Alfred Mounce in Nanaimo,
B.C., Canada, in December 1889, and had five children. One daughter died as
an infant; the others were: Leland Grant Mounce, Irene Mounce, Marion Jean
Mounce, and Lewis Shannon Mounce.
I don't know exactly where she came from, or who her parents were,
and it seems that name is very common in the Lanark area.
If you have any information on her background, we would appreciate it.
Best regards,

Greetings from New Zealand,
I have been doing research on the family of David Bruce Frame b 16.12.1862 in Dalserf, Larkhall and emigrated to New Zealand in 1879. He became an architect and I have been researching his buildings. His descendants recently had a family reunion here in Napier. His father was George Frame, b 1818 Woodfoot, Hamilton who married Grace Bruce. George's father was also George, b 25.3.177 who married Rebecca Cockburn, and George's father was Robert Frame b in Dalserf who married Margaret Wilson.
If anybody has a connection to this family and can provide/exchange any information that would be great.
Regards
Sandy Anderson
